•$25 - $35•Onsite

About The Position

ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars) is seeking passionate and committed part-time Youth Sports Coaches to lead after-school sports enrichment classes for K–5th grade students at partner elementary schools in Oakland and/or the greater East Bay. The Winter/Spring 2027 season runs from January through May, and coaches must be available for the entire season. Coaches lead weekly classes, teaching sports fundamentals through fun, game-filled lesson plans. Training, equipment, and support are provided; previous coaching experience is not required. Sports may include flag football, tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, pickleball, and others. The commitment is at least one weekday afternoon per week, generally between 3 and 6 p.m., with classes lasting 1 to 1.5 hours. The posting also describes two back-to-back hour-long classes and notes that some programs offer back-to-back classes for different age groups. Saturday hours may be available through a flag football league in March–May; coaches participating in the league must be available on Saturday game days. Coaches attend an in-person orientation, arrive reliably and on time, communicate with families and school staff, set up and clean up, and transport equipment to and from class. Locations are assigned in coordination with coaches. The position pays $25–$35 per hour. Candidates must pass a federal and state background check and/or FBI fingerprinting (Livescan), and test negative for a TB test taken within the last four years. Successful coaches may be invited to return for the full school year or weekend and summer programs.
