About The Position
Skyhawks Sports | Treasure Valley is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their team as Youth Sports Coaches for their year-round programs. Serving children aged 2 to 13 across the Boise metro area, Skyhawks offers a variety of sports and program formats including classes, after-school programs, and camps. The organization is committed to growing its team with coaches who are motivated by the right reasons and believes in investing in their coaches' development. Coaches are seen as the face of the organization, and their growth benefits the entire community. Skyhawks offers two coaching tracks: Tots Coach (ages 2-5) and General Coach (ages 6-13), with a potential Director Track for those interested in leadership roles. The Fall programs begin in mid-August through September, with programs continuing through Winter Break and a Winter/Spring season starting after the New Year.
Requirements
- Genuine ability to connect with children and demonstrate it effectively.
- Reliability is highly valued.
- A coaching heart is required.
- Availability for at least one consistent day per week, with flexibility to increase availability.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation across the Treasure Valley.
- Experience in parenting, childcare, early childhood education, or preschool (for Tots Coach track).
- A sport background is valued (for General Coach track).
Nice To Haves
- Organizational instincts, communication skills, and drive to take ownership of a program or location (for Director Track).
Responsibilities
- Lead small groups of children through age-appropriate, skill-based sessions using Skyhawks' proven curriculum.
- Build genuine relationships with the kids in your program and the parents who trust you with them.
- Create a culture in every session where each child, regardless of skill level, feels like they belong.
- Show up prepared, communicate clearly, and represent Skyhawks with love for kids, coaches, and community.
- Help set up and manage equipment in a safe, organized environment.
