Youth Respite Provider
About The Position
Provide respite care for a child with Autism in the child’s home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The role is typically one weekday night per week, with shifts lasting 4–6 hours; exact times are arranged in advance with the parent. Availability that continues into the summer schedule is needed. The member or their Managing Party is the legal employer if hired; Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting and is not the employer of record. The provider will create a safe, structured, and engaging environment, provide attentive supervision, and support the child’s emotional regulation and self-expression. Care may include the child’s favorite activities, such as Sesame Street, Secret Life of Pets, dress-up, outdoor play, and educational games. Safe transportation may be needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
- Calm, patient, consistent, dependable, non-judgmental, understanding, and supportive approach.
- Comfort with child-led play and engaging in fun, creative activities.
- Availability that carries into the summer schedule.

- Experience supporting children with Autism is preferred.
Responsibilities
