About The Position

Consumer Direct Care Network is recruiting a compassionate, attentive Respite Provider to support a young girl in the Oconomowoc, Wisconsin area. The role involves providing care in the child’s home and in the community, helping her remain at home and participate in activities with consistent routines and gentle guidance. Community outings are encouraged.

The schedule will be discussed and determined between the provider and the managing party. The tentative schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with occasional Saturdays at varied hours. Compensation is $17.66 per hour. If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, the Member—not CDCN—will be the legal employer and will have sole authority to hire or dismiss the Direct Care Worker. CDCN assists with recruitment.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a caregiver/criminal background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral support needs.
• Patient, proactive, compassionate, and attentive approach; committed to supporting the child through consistent routines and gentle guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one care and supervision during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Provide respite care in the child’s home and in the community, including encouraged community outings.
• Assist with transportation, including school pickup and transitions home or to community activities.
• Support participation in age-appropriate activities such as the YMCA, library, dance class, and other preferred activities.
• Help build and practice social, communication, and play skills.
• Manage and redirect occasional heightened behaviors using a supportive approach.
