About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Yard Spotter to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of the distribution center by managing truck and trailer movements. The Yard Spotter will communicate with dispatch, move trailers, stage them for drivers, prepare them for backhauls, and ensure all equipment is ready for the next day's deliveries. The position involves working closely with mechanics and attending required company meetings. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Sunday - Thursday, 5pm - 5am, though times are subject to change. Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid driver's license issued by state of residence
• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to pass DOT physical
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience
• Ability to operate manual transmission

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
• Keep assigned equipment coupled
• Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
• Load, unload or merge loads between environments
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
• Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
• Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
• Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries
• Work with mechanics nightly
• Attend all required company meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned
