About The Position
The Yard Loader (Load Puller - Material Handler) helps ensure the efficient operation of the lumber yard by loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping products available for customer orders. The role works closely with team members to manage material flow and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are important for preventing accidents and maintaining product quality. The position contributes to customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment. The work location is 824 S Webb Rd, Grand Island, Nebraska. The company is open Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends. A background check and pre-employment drug test are required. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Attention to detail for accurate inventory records and correct labeling and storage.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and collaborating with team members.
- Problem-solving skills to address issues during loading and unloading.
- Pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the retail trade or lumber industry.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload lumber and other materials from trucks and storage areas using forklifts and other equipment.
- Organize and maintain yard inventory so products are accessible and properly labeled.
- Assist customers with loading purchases and provide customer service.
- Inspect equipment and materials regularly to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
