About The Position

Walbec Group is seeking a Yard Laborer/Forklift Operator for its Waukesha shop. Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, this role supports various people and departments by moving concrete forms and pipe parts and keeping the yard organized. The position also involves maintaining shop and yard areas, assisting technicians, handling equipment and supplies, and performing minor repairs and other assigned duties.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record; a CDL is preferred or the ability to obtain one.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong technical understanding, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
Adaptability to new equipment and willingness to learn and be trained.
Knowledge of and ability to properly use various equipment and tools.
Motivated, punctual, dependable self-starter with good communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
Ability to read a tape measure and use proper lifting techniques.
Ability to tolerate and work in a typical heavy shop environment as part of a large team.
Ability to drive a forklift and obtain a CCP Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

Keep designated shop and yard areas clean and organized.
Maintain the facility in a clean, neat, orderly, and secure condition.
Perform maintenance and repairs to company tools and equipment as needed.
Assist technicians by pulling and delivering parts, assisting with tear-downs, cleaning parts, and providing mechanical support.
Clean the service bay, mop floors, and properly dispose of used oil, filters, and coolants.
Complete minor repairs as needed.
Monitor and advise management of needed shop supplies.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
