About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Foreman to maintain an orderly and safe yard, supervise the loading and unloading of trucks, and oversee equipment storage. The role assigns and directs day-to-day work for Yard employees, supports daily yard operations, and helps ensure safety policies and procedures are followed. The Yard Foreman also assists walk-in customers, prepares equipment for loading, checks returned equipment for damage, and keeps equipment-status records and the yard organized.

This position requires physical work, including bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, as well as working indoors or outdoors as required. Duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made under applicable laws.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Experience in equipment shipping and receiving.
• Clear understanding of equipment utilization and safety requirements.
• Personal and professional integrity.
• Demonstrated use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more, as required by the job.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Assign day-to-day work to Yard employees and assist them with daily duties.
• Direct Yard employees in daily yard operations.
• Maintain the yard in safe working order, organization, and cleanliness.
• Ensure safety policies, procedures, and safe work habits are followed, providing assistance and coaching as necessary.
• Attend weekly safety meetings and morning huddles.
• Provide high-level customer service to walk-in customers.
• Check work orders and ensure the appropriate equipment is staged for loading.
• Assist customers by filling orders and loading trucks.
• Perform daily inspections of yard forklifts.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage during the rental period.
• Maintain a checklist of equipment status.
• Help identify TBR/DBR fleet and communicate findings to the Yard Manager.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Manager.
