About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Foreman to maintain an orderly yard and supervise the loading and unloading of trucks and the storage of equipment. The role assigns and directs day-to-day work for yard employees, assists with their daily duties, and helps ensure safe, organized yard operations. The Yard Foreman also supports customers with orders and equipment loading, checks equipment readiness, inspects returned equipment, and communicates fleet status to the Yard Manager. The position requires compliance with Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Duties may include working indoors or outdoors and, depending on job requirements, driving for extended periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in extreme weather conditions or at night and on weekends. The base pay range is $21.38–$29.39; starting pay may vary based on factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience in equipment shipping and receiving.
Clear understanding of equipment utilization and safety requirements.
Personal and professional integrity.
Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment.
Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more, as required by the job.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assign day-to-day work to yard employees and assist them with daily duties.
Direct yard employees in daily yard operations.
Maintain the yard in good, safe working order and keep it organized and clean.
Ensure safety policies, procedures, and safe work habits are followed; provide assistance and coaching as needed.
Attend weekly safety meetings and morning huddles.
Assist walk-in customers by providing a high level of customer service.
Check work orders to ensure the appropriate equipment is staged for loading.
Assist customers by filling orders and loading trucks.
Perform daily inspections of yard forklifts.
Inspect returned equipment for damage sustained during the rental period.
Maintain a checklist of equipment status.
Help identify TBR/DBR fleet and communicate findings to the Yard Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
