About The Position

DHL Supply Chain is hiring a Yard Driver to operate yard jockey equipment and move containers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated locations. The role includes opening container doors and cutting bolt seals, inspecting yard trucks and inbound containers, performing yard checks, and monitoring staging areas for process consistency. The driver also supports efficient loading and unloading operations, verifies product counts and condition, refuels equipment, maintains records, and reports maintenance or safety concerns. The position is listed as second shift, Monday through Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a pay rate of $21.80 per hour plus a $1.50 second-shift premium.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of verifiable experience driving, switching, or operating a commercial tractor.
• A minimum of six months operating a yard jockey truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard jockey truck to move containers to and from dock doors and staging areas, including cutting bolt seals and opening swing doors.
• Inspect the yard truck and inbound containers daily.
• Perform yard and container checks and monitor staging areas for process consistency.
• Switch trailers and equipment to and from docks to maintain safe and efficient dock operations.
• Maintain equipment fuel levels and refuel equipment at appropriate times.
• Load and unload trucks, verify product counts and condition, and report overages, shortages, and damage.
• Properly secure loads in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and logs as required by policies and procedures.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, and notify supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe docking area and report maintenance or safety issues to supervision.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
