About The Position

DHL Supply Chain is hiring a Yard Driver to operate yard jockey trucks, tractors, and straight trucks to move containers, trailers, goods, and equipment between dock doors, staging areas, and designated locations. The role involves sequencing moves to support efficient loading and unloading, conducting yard and equipment inspections, and maintaining safe, orderly docking and staging areas. The driver also refuels equipment, verifies product counts and condition, documents equipment locations and condition, and reports safety, maintenance, overage, shortage, or damage issues to supervision. The position is onsite and pays $21.80 per hour. The stated schedule is C Shift, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Full-time employees may qualify for monthly attendance bonuses.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of verifiable experience driving, switching, or operating a commercial tractor.
• At least six months of experience operating a yard jockey truck.

Nice To Haves

• General warehouse experience.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard jockey truck to move containers to and from dock doors and staging areas, including cutting off bolt seals and opening swing doors.
• Conduct daily inspections of the yard truck and inbound containers.
• Perform yard and container checks and monitor staging areas for process consistency.
• Switch trailers and equipment to and from docks to maintain safe and efficient dock operations.
• Maintain equipment fuel levels and refuel equipment at appropriate times.
• Load and unload trucks, verifying product counts and condition, and report overages, shortages, and damages.
• Secure loads in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and logs as required by policies and procedures.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, and notify supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe docking area and report maintenance or safety issues to supervision.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
