About The Position

DHL Supply Chain is hiring a Yard Driver (also described as Yard Jockey) to move goods and equipment between designated locations using switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks. The role makes sequencing decisions to support efficient loading and unloading, loads and unloads trailers, and verifies product counts. It also involves maintaining a clean and safe docking area, reporting maintenance or safety issues, refueling vehicles, and documenting equipment locations and condition. The position is listed for a rotating 2-2-3 schedule from 5 PM to 5 AM, including every other weekend. Pay is $21.25 per hour, including shift premium, plus an additional $2 per hour weekend night premium. DHL Supply Chain describes itself as an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of verifiable experience driving, switching, or operating a commercial tractor.

Responsibilities

Switch trailers and equipment to and from docks to maintain safe and efficient dock operations.
Monitor equipment fuel levels and refuel equipment at appropriate times.
Load and unload trucks, verifying product count and condition.
Report product overages, shortages, and damages.
Perform daily yard checks.
Secure loads properly and ensure they comply with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Prepare and maintain accurate records and logs as required by policies and procedures.
Inspect truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
Notify supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintain a clean and safe docking area and report maintenance or safety issues.
Document equipment locations and condition.
