About The Position

The WXAV Music Director works with record companies to keep the station well supplied with the latest releases; listens to all new music to check and edit lyrics for compliance with FCC and WXAV rules and regulations for broadcast. Requirements

• MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
• Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
• Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter

• Background in Communication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Publishes a weekly NACC chart for industry publication and record companies to see what new music WXAV is playing.
• Co-ordinates and oversees the WXAV music committee to decide what new music the station will be playing.
• Maintains the music library- both digital (computer) and physical (CDs).
• Arranges interviews and station giveaways for the WXAV staff to participate in.
• Evaluates various student broadcasts, to ensure that FCC rules and regulations are met, and to offer feedback on the DJ’s program.
• Assists in planning, and promoting of promotional events.
