About The Position

The WXAV Program Director develops and implements station programming, including music formatting, show scheduling, and public affairs programs. This role involves supervising on-air staff, monitoring station output for consistency and quality, and providing feedback. The Program Director is responsible for enforcing FCC and WXAV rules and regulations and assisting the General Manager with FCC logging requirements. Responsibilities

Develops and implements station programming, including music formatting, show scheduling, and public affairs programs.
Supervises on-air staff.
Monitors station output for consistency and quality of product, and offers feedback.
Enforces FCC and WXAV rules and regulations.
Assists the General Manager in all FCC logging requirements.
Organizes the on-air broadcast schedule for all WXAV employees.
Helps decide the overall strategy of the radio station with the General Manager.
Leads and manages all aspects of the radio station with the full backing of the General Manager.
Plans, manages, and executes promotional events, along with the rest of the management team.
Supervises the training of all new WXAV producers to meet WXAV broadcast standards.
Assists the General Manager in maintaining the on-air image of WXAV 88.3FM through writing, recording, and producing original on-air sweepers, DJ show promos, and recording Public Service Announcements.
Serves as a member of the Student Media Leadership Committee.
