About The Position

The Student Ambassador Program is designed to enrich and support Saint Xavier University through the recruitment of prospective students and welcoming guests to campus. Student Ambassadors provide accurate university information to visitors while presenting the positive and hospitable spirit of Saint Xavier University. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies: Communication: Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting. Critical Thinking: Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work. Professionalism: Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting. Teamwork: Students build teamwork skills by collaborating with supervisors, staff, and peers to support department goals, assist others, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
  • Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
  • Be present and on-time for all scheduled tours.
  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.75 GPA each semester.
  • Attend training, meetings, and retreats. These are mandatory for all Ambassadors.
  • Commit to a minimum one-year term of employment.
  • Maintain good standing with the Office of Student Life/Dean of Students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information/data accessible and disseminated.
  • Serve as enthusiastic, dependable, and responsible representatives of the Office of Admission and the University.
  • Be dedicated to service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide campus tours
  • Participate in call campaigns, various outreach projects, and mailing initiatives
  • Serve on student panels and as student speakers
  • Lead special group visit tours
  • Participate in Admitted Student Visit Day, Fall Campus Visit Day, and Academic Department Visit Days
  • Other Recruitment activities and duties as assigned
