About The Position

First Baptist Church at The Villages is seeking a Worship Pastor to provide leadership for worship in support of the church’s purpose of Glorifying God, mission of Engaging People, and vision of Being Church. The Worship Pastor serves as a member of the church’s Pastoral Staff and Executive Committee, leading weekly worship and periodic musical presentations in partnership with the Pastoral Staff. The role includes planning thematically integrated and missionally supportive services, developing and coordinating volunteer and paid musicians and worship leaders, and overseeing the church’s Worship and Music Staff. The Worship Pastor also manages worship-related media and equipment, and the organization and maintenance of the music library and its digital data.

Requirements

Seminary training or theological coursework.
Several years of worship ministry experience.
Experience planning services weeks in advance.
Familiarity with blended, traditional, and contemporary worship.
Strong biblical and worship theology aligned with SBC / BF&M 2000.
Skilled worship leader (vocal and instrumental) with experience in choir and band settings.
Ability to plan cohesive, multi-generational worship services.
Strong relational leadership and ability to mentor and develop volunteers.
Ability to partner closely with the Senior Pastor and staff.
Pastoral, evangelistic mindset and commitment to excellence.
Ability to lead change thoughtfully while building trust.
Christ-centered, above reproach, and spiritually mature.
Evangelistic heart with a pastoral mindset.
Relational, humble, and team-oriented.
Trusted leader who builds credibility across generations.
Theologically aligned with SBC / BF&M 2000.

Responsibilities

Reflect the spiritual character of a Christ-follower as described in Scripture.
Fulfill the specific responsibilities of a Pastor as defined in Scripture.
Serve on the church’s Executive Committee.
Provide leadership for weekly worship and periodic musical presentations.
Plan thematically integrated and missionally supportive weekly worship and periodic musical presentations in conjunction with the Pastoral Staff.
Recruit, schedule, develop, and rehearse volunteer and paid instrumentalists, vocalists, and worship leaders.
Develop an annual ministry plan and budget for the church’s Worship ministry.
Oversee the church’s Worship and Music Staff.
Oversee the use of sound, lighting, video, and other media.
Oversee the maintenance and purchase of worship equipment.
Organize and maintain the church’s music library, including digital data.
