About The Position

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a French World Language Teacher. The teacher will use knowledge of foreign-language instruction, child development, instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment to support student learning. The role requires effective communication in English and another language and the ability to use technology to augment authentic learning and support instructional work. Equivalent qualifications may be accepted if the Superintendent finds them appropriate and acceptable. The position is pending budget availability.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey French teacher certificate.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language.
• Know child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management.
• Know assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes.
• Communicate effectively in English and another language, orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
• Be computer literate.
• Be a highly motivated, results-driven educator.
