About The Position

Paterson Public Schools is hiring a Spanish World Language Teacher for assignments at Public School No. 8 (.51) and Public School No. 25 (.49). The educator will teach a foreign language and use effective instructional strategies, assessment and data analysis, classroom management, and technology to support authentic learning. The role requires communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community. The position is pending budget availability. Postings remain open for ten consecutive days after the posting date or until filled.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate (Spanish) or Elementary K–6 Certification.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of foreign-language teaching.
• Know child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management.
• Know assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes.
• Communicate effectively in English and another language, orally and in writing.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and interpersonal skills when relating to students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Be able to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
• Be computer literate.
• Be a highly motivated, results-driven educator.
