About The Position
This course focuses on intensive practice in academic essay writing. Key areas of emphasis include grammatical accuracy, well-reasoned expository writing, essay organization, the preparation of research papers, and the proper acknowledgment of sources. Students will engage in frequent written exercises to develop their composition skills. The use of Writing Centre resources is required outside of regular class hours. This posting is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.
Requirements
- Ph.D (English)
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
- Competence in second language: N/A

- Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach Workshop in Essay Writing (ENG1100 AL00) for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Provide intensive practice in academic essay writing.
- Emphasize grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing.
- Focus on essay organization, preparation of research papers, and proper acknowledgment of sources.
- Assign and evaluate frequent written exercises.
- Develop students' composition skills.
- Require and monitor the use of Writing Centre resources outside of regular class hours.
