About The Position

CMHA BC is leading systems transformation in crisis care in BC, including through the development, implementation and expansion of Crisis Response, Community Led (CRCL). CRCL is a mobile, community-led crisis response team that provides support to people aged 13 and older who are experiencing a mental health crisis. CMHA BC’s role is to provide oversight and backbone support to CRCL programs that are delivered by local community-based organizations across the province. The CRCL Special Projects Coordinator leads engagement and project coordination initiatives related to CRCL. Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Crisis Care Operations (Manager of Operations), the Special Projects Coordinator supports relationship-building and information gathering related to crisis care initiatives and regional service approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human and/or Social Services (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counselling.) or higher in a relevant discipline.
  • Criminal Record Check includes vulnerable sector.
  • 2- years demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects with diverse stakeholders/partners and dispersed teams.
  • Experience working in a mental health or substance use program, project, or facility.
  • Engaging, supporting and partnering with people with lived and/or living experience of mental health or substance use-related health issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills with a high degree of tact and discretion.
  • Knowledgeable about evaluation and data collection best practices with experience analyzing data and producing reports and briefings tailored to different stakeholders/partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point and Excel.
  • Successful completion of background screening checks including a criminal record check and education verification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a defined, time limited special project with existing project plan focused on supporting provincial crisis care initiatives and related operational coordination activities.
  • Support information gathering and documentation related to accreditation, certification, and quality frameworks relevant to CRCL services.
  • Maintain and contribute to project workplans, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Manager of Operations.
  • Monitor progress against scope and timelines and identify risks or issues for discussion and resolution.
  • Ensure membership lists at BC Division and branches are updated at least annually and adhere to timelines and procedures outlined in our bylaws.
  • Engage with stakeholders working in crisis response to track their service operations, staffing models, resource requirements, and system pressures.
  • Coordinate an analysis of governance structures, funding arrangements and service mandates with the Clinical Director and Manager of Operations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, briefing notes, reports, and presentations for internal planning and discussions.
  • Provide short-term, time-limited analytical, planning, or coordination support to other CRCL initiatives, as assigned by the Manager of Operations.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Benefits

  • The hourly rate of pay is between $44.85- $56.02.
