About The Position

Kadence is a fast-paced, early-stage, venture capital-backed B2B SaaS company seeking a Workplace Solutions Engineer in the Salt Lake City area. Kadence is an AI-powered Workplace Operations Platform designed to unify people, space, and time, providing leaders with a real-time command center for their largest costs (people and real estate) and employees with a daily guide for navigating their workday. The company serves agile, multi-site enterprises across various industries and is expanding its platform to address operations, planning, scenarios, ROI, and portfolio management for enterprise customers. This role is central to enabling this shift for enterprise clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a technical customer-facing role (solutions engineering, sales engineering, technical account management, implementation architecture, or enterprise IT delivery), ideally in SaaS serving mid-market and enterprise customers.
  • Real IT depth: ability to configure SSO in Entra ID or Okta, explain OIDC and SAML, troubleshoot SCIM provisioning, and experience with calendar integration, proxy/Zscaler exceptions, MDM/Intune rollouts, and network/IP architecture.
  • Experience owning launches with dependency chains, comms sequences, pilot cohorts, and cutover risk.
  • Natural coach and trainer capable of designing curricula, building assets, and delivering live training to mixed audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills with enterprise IT and security stakeholders.
  • Structurally organized with the ability to manage 8–15 concurrent enterprise deployments.
  • Clean communication under pressure, translating technical jargon into understandable terms.
  • Builder's instinct to create templates, playbooks, or product feature requests from recurring problems.
  • Strong partnering skills, working daily with CSMs, sales, product, engineering, and CTO.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with adjacent workplace tools (Envoy, Robin, OfficeSpace, iOFFICE/Eptura, Condeco, Archibus, FM Systems, SwipedOn).
  • Familiarity with Archilogic, AutoCAD, or CAD/DWG-sourced floor plans.
  • Hardware deployment experience (Neat, Poly, Logitech, iPad kiosks, occupancy sensors).
  • Scripting or query skills (SQL, basic Python, PowerShell) for data validation and bulk operations.
  • Prior experience deploying to CMMC, FedRAMP-adjacent, or heavily regulated customers.
  • Prior experience building customer training programs, certification tracks, or workplace-champion / ambassador networks.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical implementation across complex enterprise deployments, designing and delivering technical rollouts for named enterprise accounts including SSO (Entra ID, Okta, OIDC), SCIM provisioning, calendar integration (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace service accounts), Kadence Agent deployment via Intune/MDM, public-IP configuration for automated check-in, Zscaler/proxy/VPN exceptions, HRIS syncs (Azure AD, Workday feeds), and hardware setup (Neat devices, iPad kiosks, room displays).
  • Engineer Kadence for real-world workplace complexity by configuring the platform to model customer operations, including overlapping neighborhoods, priority-based booking, hoteling vs. reverse hoteling vs. assigned seating, contractor vs. staff instances, phased multi-country global rollouts, custom roles, VMS operator workflows, badge printing, and floor plan strategies.
  • Lead launch planning and go-live orchestration by owning the launch plan for each customer, including sequence of events, dependency chains, and cutover playbooks. Coordinate integrations, design phased rollouts, sequence communications, manage go-live risk, and orchestrate agent deployment, Teams/Slack app rollout, and global announcement sends.
  • Build and deliver customer enablement by designing and running training curricula for various user roles (Global Admin, Team Manager, Booking Scheduler, VMS Operator, end-users, new-hires), creating assets (one-pagers, videos, admin guides), and delivering live training sessions.
  • Coach customers on workplace operations best practices, advising on adoption strategy, agent enablement, anchor days, neighborhood design, priority booking, hoteling models, data-privacy settings, and rollout sequencing. Coach champions and admins on engagement and building internal narratives.
  • Stay engaged with accounts post-launch for optimization, edge cases, new-feature enablement, and net-new site rollouts.
  • Navigate enterprise security, compliance, and change management by owning the technical narrative through Architecture Review Boards, security reviews, legal and procurement reviews, and compliance conversations (CMMC, HIPAA-adjacent workflows, GDPR, data-residency).
  • Close the loop with Product and Engineering by compiling structured feedback, filing bug reports, and working with product managers and engineering on custom features and platform improvements.
  • Raise the bar for Kadence deployments by documenting repeatable technical playbooks, launch templates, and enablement curricula, and partnering with CX leadership on continuous improvement of onboarding and implementation methodology.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary calibrated to a technical customer-facing role.
  • Meaningful equity stock options.
  • Health insurance.
  • 401(k).
