About The Position

Responsible for all aspects associated with the operation and maintenance of facilities for the assigned geographical area. Areas of responsibility may include equipment, space planning, HVAC, electrical and mechanical equipment, custodial and ground care and design and construction of small capital improvement projects. Position will manage between $4M to $5M in annual O&M costs and $200,000 to $250,000 in annual capital costs. Oversees approximately 366,000 to 942,000 square feet of general plant buildings per geographic region.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years combined experience in Workplace Services operations or experience associated with management functions in a service environment including budgeting responsibilities in lieu of degree.
  • Strong background in HVAC/Electrical and building systems.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Ability to work with various levels of Management.
  • Strong oral, written communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills to handle multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Facility Management (CFM) is preferred but not required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for delivering facility services to employees throughout the assigned area.
  • Work with all levels of area management and employees to develop and communicate Workplace Services processes and guidelines that will ensure consistent and reliable services.
  • Direct the activities of the Workplace Services organization in the operation, maintenance and acquisition of services, materials, and supplies for assigned area service and special purpose.
  • Coordinate renovation and space planning activities overseeing Contract workers associated with maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment and manage the inventory of office furniture and equipment as required.
  • Participate in the negotiations and execution of contracts associated with the Workplace Services function.
  • Identify, prioritize and make recommendations on issues that must be addressed in order to provide acceptable service in all areas of responsibility.
  • Provide data relative to performance metrics and bench marking to support assigned area building cost structure pertaining to services provided and provide cost budget, tracking and variance reporting as required.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of workplace services requests (from internal and external customers) and ensure that requested information/services are provided in a timely manner.
  • Establish effective communication channels with internal and external customers around all aspects of the workplace services function.
