About The Position

The Working Lead leads and directs technicians’ daily activities while also producing and building products when not leading, providing direction, or assessing employees. The role supports technician development and production by creating and maintaining a job matrix, breaking down jobs to identify the knowledge needed for training, and training and assessing technicians in quality and efficiency. The Working Lead also supports Product Development in learning new styles and transferring knowledge to the production line, and collaborates with manufacturing supervisory staff to support timely completion and delivery of finished products. The position is responsible for promoting safety compliance and ensuring 5S zone defense is followed.

Requirements

General knowledge of Lean, Job Relations, and Job Instructions concepts.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English, Spanish, or Vietnamese.
Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to support and assist internal customers, including Engineering.
Ability to plan a training schedule with a Supervisor or Lead.
Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Ability to provide leadership and direction to technicians.
Ability to work flexible shifts and/or extended hours.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a job matrix to understand the skill levels of line members.
Break down jobs to identify and capture the knowledge required for training.
Train, develop, and assess technicians to support their quality and efficiency.
Assist Product Development with new development, learning styles, and transferring knowledge to the production line.
Lead staff and direct daily activities, including work assignments and schedules.
Approve and plan staff members’ daily hours worked.
Collaborate with manufacturing supervisory staff to support timely completion and delivery of finished goods or products.
Ensure staff follow safety standards and practices and comply with current federal and company safety regulations.
Produce and build products when not leading, directing, or assessing employees.
Ensure 5S zone defense is followed at all times.
Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
