About The Position

The Workforce Programs Coordinator provides advanced administrative, technical, and compliance support to the Weld County Workforce Center and the Weld County Workforce Development Board (WCWDB). This position performs specialized duties that ensure effective Board operations, adherence to state and federal workforce requirements, and the consistent implementation of division-wide processes. Serving as the One-Stop Operator, the Coordinator fosters collaboration among partner agencies, supports strategic workforce initiatives, and represents Weld County in a highly professional manner during interactions with business leaders, community partners, and local elected officials. This role requires strong organizational judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to independently manage complex responsibilities in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment. This position does not provide direct employment services to clients but instead ensures the effective coordination, compliance, and administrative operations of the division. Reliable, predictable attendance within department business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position is in-person and is not eligible for consistent telework arrangements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years full-time business or clerical experience in an office environment that required advanced customer service and working with the public.
  • Candidate must be able to keyboard at 40 words per minute.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to enter data into several different computer programs.
  • Candidate must have proven experience using various forms of technology and programs and possess the ability to learn and apply new computer skills regularly.
  • Candidate must possess advance knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and department policies and procedures.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to write correspondence.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to apply math concepts and calculations in the work environment.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to apply common sense to problem solve in a work environment.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work independently and handle high-stress situations, prioritizing competing tasks or responsibilities in a fast paced, high volume, and ever-changing work environment.

  • Candidate must pass Department of Human Services background checks prior to employment start date.
  • Driving is essential in this position. Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License and Liability Insurance
  • Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation and if hired, will be subject to continuous monthly MVR monitoring throughout employment.
  • Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to travel as needed to meet the essential functions of the position.
  • Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening in accordance with Weld County policy.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot technology and equipment to support hybrid in person/virtual meetings.
  • Ensure required policies and postings comply with the requirements of Title II of the ADA [28 C.F.R.], in both digital and physical formats.
  • May assist with flyers, brochures, annual summaries, and presentations for the Workforce Center.
  • In collaboration with the Communications Team, procure outreach materials and other supplies essential to program implementation and functional operations.
  • Maintain historical files, records, and reports for the various units within the Division.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for Weld County regarding Labor and Employment Notice of Funding Allocations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop Labor and Employment Work Plans, budgets, and performance dashboards, including preparing and implementing revisions as needed.
  • Support division wide budget discussions by monitoring funding streams, tracking expenditures, and building a strong working knowledge of the program’s complex financial and regulatory ecosystem.
  • Develop and coordinate responses to State and Federal reporting requirements ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance including all MOUs to ensure Weld County remains in compliance.
  • Represent the Workforce Center and Weld County in a professional manner in interactions with business leaders, community partners, and local elected officials.
  • Provide staff support and member relations for the WCWDB and its committees.
  • Coordinate Board activities by scheduling meetings and retreats, arranging for meeting location, and preparing necessary support materials, agenda, meeting minutes, handouts, and refreshments.
  • Actively recruit WCWDB members, in alignment with the Workforce Director, and facilitate appointed members’ orientation.
  • Track member participation at meetings, talent development activities, and community events to maintain High Performing Board status.
  • Attend appropriate sessions of training to remain current on Federal, State, and local rules and regulations affecting the WCWDB and provide educational opportunities to staff and Board members.
  • Serve as the One Stop Operator by ensuring all required partners understand and meet their responsibilities under WIOA, including referral pathways, communication standards, and collaborative service strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate partner meetings to strengthen coordination, improve service delivery, and document accomplishments across the workforce system.
  • Work in partnership with the DHS Contract Management & Compliance team to prepare, track, and update grants, contracts, memoranda of understanding, and other interagency agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with workforce, education, economic development, and community partners to support unified system goals.
  • Represent the Workforce Center in collaborative initiatives, ensuring Weld County’s strategic priorities are communicated and upheld.
