About The Position

This position is responsible for the coordination of Workforce Allied Health programs at Louisiana Delta Community College. The role involves instructional duties such as assigning lessons, correcting homework, administering tests, presenting subject matter, and managing classroom activities. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee the creation and delivery of Allied Health programs and customized training for industry partners, manage adjunct instructors, and maintain student records. A key aspect of the role is serving as the primary point of contact and liaison for Allied Health industry partners, Campus Directors, the Dean of Allied Health and Nursing, and non-academic programs.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Unencumbered License for the State of Louisiana
• Experience in long-term care and a minimum of one year in Med Surg
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, staff and student populations as well as external constituents.
• Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college preparing to meet the needs of the 21st century.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytic, problem solving, decision making, organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns lessons to students and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate achievement of students in technical knowledge and practical skills.
• Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
• Ensures use of classroom time is organized and that instruction and clean-up (if applicable) can be accomplished within allotted time.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions; may initiate study groups in preparation for examinations.
• Enforces classroom protocols, rules and regulations; maintains classroom discipline; utilizes effective classroom management techniques.
• Program and course creation and training for Workforce Development Allied Health programs.
• Creation and delivery of customized training for industry partners.
• Oversees adjuncts within the workforce development group.
• Maintaining student records.
• Assist the Director of Workforce Operations with responsibilities within program areas.
• Primary point of contact for Allied Health industry partners.
• Serve as the liaison between Campus Directors, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing, and non-academic programs regarding all Allied Health programs.
