About The Position

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking a Workforce Allied Health Coordinator for the Workforce & Economic Development department. This is an unclassified, administrative/staff position funded by a grant. The role involves instructional duties, managing Workforce Development Allied Health programs, and assisting the Director of Workforce Operations. The coordinator will be the primary point of contact for Allied Health industry partners and serve as a liaison between various campus departments regarding Allied Health programs.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Unencumbered License for the State of Louisiana
  • Experience in long-term care and a minimum of one year in Med Surg
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, staff and student populations as well as external constituents.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college preparing to meet the needs of the 21st century.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytic, problem solving, decision making, organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns lessons to students and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate achievement of students in technical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
  • Ensures the use of classroom time is organized and that instruction and clean-up (if applicable) can be accomplished within allotted time.
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions; may initiate study groups in preparation for examinations.
  • Enforces classroom protocols, rules and regulations; maintains classroom discipline; utilizes effective classroom management techniques.
  • Responsible for Workforce Development Allied Health programs, including program and course creation and training.
  • Creation and delivery of customized training for industry partners.
  • Oversees adjuncts within the workforce development group.
  • Maintaining student records.
  • Assist the Director of Workforce Operations with responsibilities within program areas.
  • Primary point of contact for Allied Health industry partners.
  • Serve as the liaison between Campus Directors, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing, and non-academic programs regarding all Allied Health programs.
