Workers Compensation Claims Examiner | Reno, NV
About The Position
The Workers Compensation Claims Examiner analyzes workers’ compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due and ensure claims are adjudicated in accordance with service expectations, industry best practices, and client service requirements. The role investigates claims, develops action plans, determines claim exposure, and works toward appropriate, timely resolutions. The position is currently designated as remote, but candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Reno, Nevada, or be willing to relocate there. The successful candidate is expected to transition to a hybrid schedule and report to the Reno office.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be licensed in California or Nevada.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional certification applicable to the line of business.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and process claims using well-developed action plans to achieve appropriate and timely resolutions.
- Investigate claims and gather information to determine claim exposure.
- Negotiate claim settlements within designated authority.
- Communicate claim activity and processing to claimants and clients.
- Report claims to excess carriers and respond professionally and promptly to requests for direction.
