About The Position
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an Attorney to join its growing Workers Compensation department in Nashville. The attorney will handle and support a heavy, complex caseload from pre-litigation through litigation, trial preparation, and trial. The role primarily handles pre-suit matters and assists senior attorneys after claims are filed in court.
Requirements
- Law degree from a fully accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar Association.
- At least 2 years of workers compensation experience.
- Ability to manage a high volume of pre-litigation and litigation cases.
- Excellent client service and communication skills.
- Self-starter driven by long-term career goals.
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills.
Nice To Haves
- Multiple state bar licenses.
- Experience with wage-and-hour claims.
Responsibilities
- Handle cases day to day from pre-litigation through litigation.
- Primarily handle pre-suit matters and assist senior attorneys once a claim is filed in court.
- Draft and file litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, demands, motions, and memoranda.
- Guide clients through the case process.
- Interact with expert witnesses, including through conferences and drafting expert reports and affidavits.
- Attend and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
