About The Position

Capital One is seeking a Workday Engineer to build resilient, well-designed solutions supporting its core Finance technology. The role contributes to the advancement of Capital One’s Finance Technology ecosystem and technical culture, champions automation of functional and technical processes, and develops innovative solutions.

The engineer delivers solutions across Workday Finance modules, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Global Consolidation, Invoices, Payments, and Suppliers. The role designs and develops complex Workday integrations and automation workflows, leads a team of integrators and configurators, and collaborates with product owners, stakeholders, and finance partners to improve business processes and deliver on priorities using Agile methodologies. This is a hybrid position requiring adherence to Capital One’s policy for on-site presence at the designated office location.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 6 years of Workday platform experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with Workday integrations or functional configuration tasks in General Ledger, Accounting Center, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Global Consolidation, Invoices, Payments, and Suppliers.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Nice To Haves

• 7 or more years of experience with Workday functional configuration across Workday Finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounting Center, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Global Consolidation, Invoices, Payments, and Suppliers.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
• Workday or Workday Pro certifications.
• 2 or more years of experience with Workday Security or Workday Reporting.
• 1 or more years of experience loading HCM data into Workday using existing Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs).

Responsibilities

• Understand and translate business priorities, integrating HR value propositions and strategies to meet business needs.
• Deliver solutions across Workday Finance modules, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Global Consolidation, Invoices, Payments, and Suppliers, using efficient, organized processes and maintaining high standards.
• Communicate effectively with the team, Product Owners, stakeholders, and business partners, and influence solutions.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and collaborate with finance partners on ideas and insights to redesign business processes and optimize results.
• Design and develop complex Workday integrations using web service technologies, SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, and XSLT.
• Lead a team of integrators and configurators supporting Workday Finance modules.
• Align priorities and deliver key objectives with product owners using Agile methodologies while maintaining platform and Enterprise standards.
• Design and develop automation workflows, perform unit tests, and conduct code reviews for self and the team to ensure rigorously designed, well-coded, tuned solutions.
