About The Position

The Workbased Learning Specialist coordinates all work-based learning (WBL) activities on and off center for students, including students who do not reside in the local area. The position operates in compliance with government and management directives.

The specialist develops paid and unpaid WBL sites with training agencies and employers, coordinates student scheduling, tracks student accountability and maintains participant records and monitoring forms. The role also supports industry and community relations and coordinates advanced training applications for eligible students.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree.
• Three years of experience working with youth.
• Experience with job development, marketing, or counseling-related services.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop on- and off-center paid and unpaid work-based learning sites with training agencies and employers to place students in work-based learning and direct-hire opportunities.
• Coordinate timely scheduling of students for work-based learning and collaborate with the career training manager to achieve program goals.
• Report student accountability daily to student records.
• Maintain student time cards, progress reviews, and monitoring forms for each work-based learning participant and work site; keep case notes updated in CIS.
• Participate in industry and community relations councils.
• Coordinate the advanced training application process for eligible students.
• Coordinate work-based learning for students who do not reside in the local area.
