About The Position

Phoenix Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered ministry serving men, women, and children experiencing hunger, homelessness, addiction, and other life-controlling issues. The Work Therapy Coordinator works on the men’s campus as a hands-on coach, helping clients apply what they are learning through daily work assignments. The coordinator leads and mentors clients while supporting their development of reliability, teamwork, workplace skills, and habits that support employment and independent living. The role also helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning campus and involves active, on-your-feet work. Work therapy supports clients in turning recovery goals into daily habits, such as showing up on time, completing tasks, and taking pride in their work. The coordinator provides consistent encouragement and accountability, helps clients build confidence, and prepares them for life after the program. The role includes coordinating assignments and campus support, partnering with Facilities, handling supplies and transportation, documenting client progress, and building relationships with clients. The position also involves appropriate opportunities to share the Gospel and invite clients into a deeper relationship with Christ. This is a safety-sensitive position involving client care and transportation. Employees must comply with the Mission’s drug-free workplace policy and may not test positive for marijuana, even where its use is permitted under Arizona law.
