About The Position

This position is for a Work Study student to assist in the Welding Lab at Mohawk Valley Community College. The assistant will be responsible for organizing supplies, distributing equipment, setting up and assisting with welding labs, and reinforcing safety practices. This role is crucial for maintaining an efficient and safe learning environment for welding students.

Requirements

• Must be a current MVCC student with work study funds available
• Must have prior welding experience and be familiar with welding safety
• Must be able to organize and track equipment and other welding supplies

Responsibilities

• Organizing and keeping a running inventory of tool room supplies
• Handing out equipment and consumables to welding students
• Helping instructors set up welding equipment for their labs
• Assisting instructors during lab time
• Informing students of safe practices in a weld shop environment
• Helping to implement cleanup procedures
