About The Position

The Work Based Coordinator as liaison between employers and the Center. You’ll be the connection point, developing community partnerships and helping students gain experience, confidence, and a path forward! Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field
  • One (1) year related experience in Business Community Liaison type activities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Successfully pass any background check and/drug test.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain work-based learning (WBL) program relationships with local employers.
  • Maintain connections with federal, state, local agencies, employers, and contracted placement agencies to aid students’ placement into jobs, continuing education, or the armed forces.
  • Assist recruiters with outreach services as needed.
  • Participate in career preparation period curricula and career transition activities as needed.
  • Counsel students regarding goals, options, requirements, services, etc.
  • Assist students with preparation of resume, preparation for work-based learning experiences, and job search activities.
  • Coordinate placement of students into WBL. Monitor student progress, counsel students regarding performance, evaluation, problem resolution, decision making, accountability, and transition issues.
  • Participate in student performance evaluation panels for students participating in work-based learning or off-center training. Prepare required documentation as needed.
  • Support career development services system, center behavior standards, and zero tolerance policy.
  • Transport students for WBL purposes as needed.
