About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice RN working in collaboration with physicians to deliver health care services to meet the specialized needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. The NP delivers health care services to a population of patients within their scope of certification and education.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Mississippi State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS upon hire and/or transfer.
• If works in Women’s Health, current specialty certification as required by department; Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) preferred and maintained through National Certification Corporation (NCC).
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
• Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of advance nursing experience preferred.
• Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) preferred and maintained through National Certification Corporation (NCC).
