About The Position

The Wire Harness Electrical Engineer will apply knowledge of wire harness design, fabrication, and installation, including component selection and system-level grounding. The role involves using test equipment to verify harness designs and assemblies, working effectively with a team, and managing concurrent tasks with minimal guidance. Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration.

Requirements

• Familiarity with test equipment used to verify harness design and assembly.
• Knowledge of wire harness design, fabrication, and installation standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and MSFC-SPEC-494.
• Experience selecting connectors, backshells, wires, and other harness components.
• Understanding of electrical grounding requirements and their implementation through wire harness design.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well on a team, take initiative, and execute with minimal guidance.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to facility security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use test equipment to verify wire harness designs and assemblies.
• Design wire harnesses in accordance with applicable fabrication and installation standards.
• Select connectors, backshells, wires, and other harness components.
• Implement proper system-level electrical grounding through wire harness design.
