About The Position

Kent Place School seeks a Winter/Spring Varsity Track Coach for the 2026-2027 season. This role requires prior coaching or playing experience at the high school level, with collegiate or club level experience being preferred. The coach will be responsible for guiding athletes through both the winter and spring track seasons, ensuring proper supervision, and adhering to school policies regarding diversity and inclusion. The position also involves various administrative duties and participation in school events.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
  • Prior coaching/playing experience at the club level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coach all disciplines of Varsity Track for the winter and spring seasons.
  • Understand the fundamentals of track and field.
  • Motivate athletes to reach their potential.
  • Possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
  • Maintain proper supervision of student-athletes at practices, meets, and on school-provided transportation.
  • Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Attend a mandatory preseason parent meeting and training session with the Athletic Dept.
  • Participate in special activities, including senior day, parent night, banquets, awards nights, admission panels, open houses, coaching clinics, and pep assemblies.
  • Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
