About The Position
Wheeler Accountants is seeking interns to join their team during a period of company growth. This internship is ideal for individuals interested in a long-term career in public accounting, focused on personal and professional advancement. Interns will gain insight into the operations of a successful accounting firm and participate in diverse projects including tax returns, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and trust accounting.
Requirements
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or taxation.
- Minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- A plan to complete the 150 semester units required to sit for the CPA exam.
- Demonstrated hard work and success in previous endeavors (work, school, sports, etc.).
- Strong interest in public accounting.
- Confidence in abilities and a desire to learn.
- Understanding of the importance of hard work and discipline for success.
- Ability to anticipate challenges.
- Awareness of growth opportunities within an expanding firm.
- Capacity to maintain a "big picture" perspective.
Responsibilities
- Participate in tax return preparation.
- Engage in review and compilation projects.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks.
- Support trust accounting functions.
- Observe the operations of a public accounting firm.
