The WIC Services Manager provides strategic leadership, oversight, and operational management for all service delivery components of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. This program resides within the Office of Family Nutrition Services and will supervise five Regional Managers - who are responsible for supporting local agency operations across the state. The WIC Services Manager ensures consistent, high-quality implementation of federal and state WIC policies, promotes program integrity, and supports equitable access to nutrition services for all eligible participants.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership, business management, public health administration, nutrition, social services, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the OFNS Leadership Team.
Help to expand the Office of Family Nutrition Services through collaborative efforts with the WIC program.
Provide direct supervision, guidance, and performance management for five Regional Managers across the State of South Dakota, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high performing team.
Work Collaboratively with the WIC Director to oversee statewide implementation of all WIC program provisions, including certification, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, vendor management, and program benefits.
Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, state policy requirements, and program standards through ongoing monitoring, technical assistance, and quality assurance activities.
Coordinate development and delivery of training, tools, and resources to support Regional Managers and local agencies in consistent and effective service delivery.
Lead strategic initiatives to enhance program access, improve participant experience, and strengthen service delivery models.
Work alongside the Data Manager to analyze service delivery data and program performance metrics; identify trends and recommend solutions to advance program goals.
Collaborate with cross functional program areas within the OF including nutrition services, fiscal management, vendor operations, IT systems, and policy development.
Serve as a key liaison with local agencies, stakeholders, and community partners to support communication, problem solving, and program improvement.
Participate in state and federal audits, management evaluations, and reporting processes.
Support emergency preparedness and continuity-of-operations planning related to WIC service delivery.
Represent the WIC Program in meetings, workgroups, and external collaborations as assigned by leadership.
