About The Position

Thundermist Health Center is seeking a WIC Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of its WIC Program in Woonsocket. This role involves managing staff, performing nutrition assessments, coordinating services with community agencies, and serving as a liaison between Thundermist, the state WIC agency, and the families served. It is a hands-on leadership position combining direct nutrition counseling with program administration to ensure high-quality care for vulnerable community members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nutrition Dietetics program
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Blood handling training (OSHA, hematological and anthropometric measures)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with proficiency in applicable medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Perform nutrition assessments for WIC participants, perinatal patients, and other Thundermist patients
  • Assess hematological and anthropometric data to inform care plans
  • Develop individualized nutrition plans to promote compliance and improve health outcomes
  • Provide approximately 32 hours per week of direct nutrition counseling
  • Coordinate nutrition services and referrals with Woonsocket community agencies serving children and families, and with Thundermist providers
  • Coordinate the ongoing operation and management of the Woonsocket WIC Program
  • Supervise WIC staff, including training, scheduling, and performance oversight
  • Maintain an active liaison relationship between the state WIC agency, Thundermist staff, and WIC participants
  • Manage patient flow through the WIC clinic to ensure efficient and positive experiences
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of WIC charts and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues with the QWIC system and other program technology
  • Dedicate approximately 8 hours per week to administrative responsibilities
