Performs a variety of duties relating to public health nutrition work in delivering WIC services to clients. This position works under the general supervision of the WIC Supervisor and has no supervisory responsibilities. The role involves determining and documenting WIC eligibility, identifying risk factors, enrolling clients, and reevaluating them for continued eligibility. It also includes providing clients with full explanations of the WIC Program, explaining nutritional risk factors, and designing and carrying out individual education plans with behavior change goals and appropriate referrals. The WIC Educator is responsible for taking accurate health assessments, determining and tailoring food packages, issuing benefits via EBT card, and maintaining client confidentiality. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the design and preparation of nutrition education materials and supporting other program services as needed.
