About The Position

Join Apple’s Software Engineering team to help ensure the quality and stability of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and networking technologies across iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The role focuses on stress, stability, and functional testing of wireless software and features across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Mac product lines.

The engineer will develop and execute test plans, investigate software and field issues, identify root causes with internal tools, and expand test coverage based on engineering analysis. The role also applies AI tools and data analysis to test results and logs to identify failure patterns, improve triage, and guide coverage. It includes automating test cases in an Objective-C framework, maintaining test infrastructure, and working with development teams to validate software and firmware fixes.

Requirements

• Experience testing wireless technologies, especially Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, through functional, performance, or stability testing.
• Deep understanding of software quality assurance methodologies and practices.
• Understanding of operating system concepts.
• Experience developing test strategies and methodologies.
• Experience developing automated test cases.
• Ability to communicate clearly and drive projects across multiple teams.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work comfortably with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to details that matter to customers and a passion for learning.

Nice To Haves

• Automation experience using C, C++, or scripting languages such as Python or shell.
• Experience using AI tools in testing or automation and analyzing test or log data to derive actionable quality and stability insights.
• Working knowledge of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocols.
• CWNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute software tests to identify stability and functional issues and ensure high-quality wireless software.
• Define and execute test plans to validate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread features against stability requirements.
• Raise issues and follow up with development teams to identify root causes using internal tools.
• Investigate user and field issues, conduct engineering analysis, and add test coverage for reproductions.
• Apply AI tools and data analysis to test results and logs to surface failure patterns, accelerate triage, and guide test coverage.
• Automate test cases in an Objective-C framework and contribute to test coverage automation.
• Build, configure, and maintain test infrastructure for executing test plans across software releases.
• Collaborate with development teams to validate software and firmware patches and fixes.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows, test cases, and dashboards that turn test data into actionable insights.
