About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Wi-Fi Architect with strong hands-on experience in Wi-Fi/networking testing, CPE devices, Linux embedded systems, and packet analysis. The candidate will perform exploratory and investigative testing of Wi-Fi features across CPE devices, gateways, routers, and extenders, with a primary focus on identifying complex, intermittent, and real-world issues.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of professional experience.
  • Architect-level experience required.
  • Strong hands-on Wi-Fi / 802.11 experience.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi 4/5/6.
  • Knowledge of 2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz.
  • Hands-on CPE / Gateway / Router / Extender testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Mesh / Roaming / Band Steering.
  • Linux Embedded Systems experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Wireshark / iPerf / tcpdump.
  • Packet capture and log analysis experience.
  • Performance and exploratory testing experience.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform exploratory testing of Wi-Fi features across CPE devices, gateways, routers, and extenders.
  • Validate Wi-Fi functionality including: SSID creation and management, WPA2/WPA3, WPS, Band steering, Client steering, Mesh behavior, Roaming and handoff, Multi-AP scenarios.
  • Test Wi-Fi across mobile devices, laptops, IoT devices, and smart TVs.
  • Perform testing in dense client, interference, channel congestion, and environmental variation scenarios.
  • Identify edge cases, race conditions, and intermittent issues.
  • Perform throughput, latency, packet-loss, soak, stress, performance, and stability testing.
  • Analyze packet captures, logs, and system traces.
  • Use Wireshark, iPerf, and tcpdump for troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Work with developers, architects, and product teams to reproduce and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Execute limited scripted/regression testing while maintaining a primary focus on exploratory testing.
  • Log detailed defects with reproduction steps, observations, logs, and packet captures.
