Wi-Fi Architect

American IT SystemsPhiladelphia, PA

About The Position

Perform exploratory testing of Wi Fi features across CPE devices (Gateways, Routers, Extenders). Validate Wi Fi functionality including: SSID creation and management Security modes (WPA2/WPA3, WPS) Band steering, client steering, mesh behavior Roaming, handoff, and multi AP scenarios Test real world usage scenarios such as: Multiple client types (mobile, laptops, IoT, smart TVs) Dense client environments Interference, channel congestion, and environmental variations Identify edge cases, race conditions, and intermittent issues through investigative testing. Perform performance and stability validation: Throughput, latency, packet loss Long duration soak and stress testing Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product teams to: Share exploratory findings Reproduce complex customer reported issues Suggest test ideas based on system design Execute limited scripted/regression testing, with primary focus on unscripted exploratory testing. Log high quality defects with detailed observations, logs, and reproduction steps. Analyze logs, packet captures, and system traces for issue triage.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Wi Fi fundamentals: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi Fi 4/5/6)
