Wi-Fi Architect
About The Position
The Wi-Fi Architect will have a strong understanding of Wi-Fi Fundamentals and knowledge of 802.11 Wi-Fi protocols (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be). This role collaborates closely with Product & Development teams to identify product and technical requirements. The architect will develop strategies and characterize Wi-Fi behavior in new products, leading and resolving engineering investigations, including identifying, reproducing, and resolving product defects. Responsibilities also include reviewing and verifying requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis on product architecture requirements, testability, and verification. Additionally, the architect will assist in developing Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies, and identifying viable test strategies to support testing product functionality. Familiarity with advanced Wi-Fi test automation frameworks and industry trends from IEEE, WFA, WBA, IETF is expected. The role involves assisting in the identification and resolution of problems and defects, initiating investigation processes, identifying and reproducing bugs or defects, and driving issues and improvements to resolution.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical field
- Solid understanding of Wi-Fi antennas, frequency coordination, 802.11 WLAN technologies and IP protocols
- Excellent communication skills
- Moderate level knowledge of scripting
- Troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills
- 5+ years of experience in networking and wireless technologies
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance; variable schedule(s) as necessary
- Good knowledge of data science tools, scripting and programming languages
Nice To Haves
- Experience in home networking protocols and technologies such as Bluetooth, Matter, Wi-Fi and other
- Experience with broadband product test including DOCSIS, Ethernet, Cable modem standards
- Hands-on experience with device/consumer products test, ideally in high performance applications
- Background on automated product test environments and able to assist in test automation/maintenance when necessary
Responsibilities
