About The Position

The Wet End Utility supports corrugator production by checking paper specifications, following the wet-end schedule, marking rolls, helping thread the Double Backer when needed, and cleaning equipment and tanks. The role also involves monitoring equipment, reporting problems, completing work orders, and carrying out preventive maintenance and housekeeping duties according to equipment-specific work instructions. Work takes place in a manufacturing environment around machinery and heavy mobile equipment, with temperatures that vary by season.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with seasonally varying temperatures, around machinery and heavy mobile equipment traffic.

• Previous experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow all OSHA requirements and safety rules.
• Check paper for proper size, grade, lineal, and unwind direction; inform the clamper if it is incorrect.
• Read the wet-end schedule to determine the process to follow.
• Mark the size and grade on the side of the roll close to the core.
• Help the Double Backer thread the machine if necessary.
• Clean the corrugator and run tanks at the end of production or as needed.
• Monitor equipment while it is running and report problems to the supervisor.
• Complete work orders as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping duties as detailed in equipment-specific work instructions.
