About The Position

Chevron is seeking Wells Engineering Interns for the 2026-2027 period. This internship offers hands-on project experience within the office, collaborating with drilling or completions engineers and other functional groups. The program may also involve time on a drilling or well workover rig, or in a Decision Support Center. Typical projects include optimization studies, project look-back reviews, tool case studies, well design reviews, safety and environmental performance studies, and contractor analyses. Interns will be immersed in Chevron’s safety and technology culture, build professional relationships, and gain exposure to career opportunities within the company. The cost of wells can vary significantly, with some estimated at $250,000 and others up to $150,000,000 to drill and complete, offering diverse learning experiences in the oil and gas industry and Chevron's operational practices.

Requirements

  • Students pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs.
  • Skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Position may require driving on a routine basis.
