About The Position

Chevron is seeking entry-level Wells Engineers to join their Horizons Program, designed to accelerate the development of new employees in the first three to five years of their careers. This program provides a solid foundation of knowledge and experience through a combination of on-the-job training and technical learning. The role involves both office and field assignments, with potential opportunities for international transfers after developing core competencies. Mobility is encouraged, and engineers may work in various assignments domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Students completing the last year of their Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Individuals with a Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree with less than 2 years of directly related work experience.

  • Position may require driving on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

  • Drill Site Representative for on-site drilling operations including exploratory wells and development wells.
  • Well Site Representative for on-site frac spreads and well intervention operations on producing wells.
  • Drilling engineer responsibilities: cost estimation, bit and drill string design, casing and cement design, and mud program design.
  • Completions engineer responsibilities: cost estimation, well completion design including fracture or sand control design, well completion fluid recommendation, production tubing string design and effective nodal analysis, including understanding the integrated production system to effectively optimize production.
  • Well intervention engineer responsibilities: designing, planning, supporting, and supervising well intervention and completion procedures, applying technology and innovation in remediating wells, and the use of coiled tubing and snubbing units.
