About The Position

Chevron is seeking entry-level Wells Engineers to join their Horizons Program. This program is designed to accelerate the development of new employees over their first three to five years, providing a solid foundation of knowledge and experience. The role involves both office and field-based assignments. Field assignments may include Drill Site Representatives for drilling operations and Well Site Representatives for frac spreads and well intervention. Office assignments can be as a drilling engineer, completions engineer, or well intervention engineer. Opportunities for international transfers may arise after developing core Wells engineering competencies. Mobility and diverse assignments are encouraged.

Requirements

  • Students completing the last year of their Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Individuals with a Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree with less than 2 years of directly related work experience

Responsibilities

  • Drill Site Representatives for on-site drilling operations including exploratory wells and development wells
  • Well Site Representatives for on-site frac spreads and well intervention operations on producing wells
  • Drilling engineer responsibilities: cost estimation, bit and drill string design, casing and cement design, and mud program design
  • Completions engineering responsibilities: cost estimation, well completion design including fracture or sand control design, well completion fluid recommendation, production tubing string design and effective nodal analysis, including understanding the integrated production system to effectively optimize production
  • Well intervention engineering responsibilities: designing, planning, supporting, and supervising well intervention and completion procedures, applying technology and innovation in remediating wells the use of coiled tubing and snubbing units
