About The Position

Chevron is seeking Petroleum Engineer Interns for the 2026-2027 season, located in Houston, Texas, and Covington, Louisiana. Petroleum Engineers at Chevron work within multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to asset development planning, production operations, reserves management, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development. Interns will be assigned to production and reservoir engineering positions and projects that add value to Chevron, with projects matched based on degree pursued and previous internship experience. Each intern will be provided with a mentor for guidance. Positions can be either field or office-based.

Requirements

Students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong academic performance in core programs.
Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
This position may require driving on a routine basis.

Nice To Haves

Experience in research, technology development, or consulting.
Previous experience in an integrated oil or international service company intern program.
Participation in an industry or energy company university research project.

Responsibilities

Develop technical skills in production and reservoir engineering assignments.
Contribute to asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development.
Work on projects that contribute value to Chevron, matched with interns based on degree pursued and previous internship experience.
Receive guidance from a mentor on assigned projects.
