About The Position

Chevron is seeking Petroleum Engineer Interns for the 2026-2027 season. Interns will be part of multi-disciplinary teams and develop technical skills in production and reservoir engineering assignments. These assignments focus on asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development. Interns will be assigned to projects that contribute value to Chevron, matched based on their degree and previous internship experience. A mentor will be provided for guidance. Positions can be field or office based.

Requirements

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • This position may require driving on a routine basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in research, technology development, or consulting.
  • Previous experience in an integrated oil or international service company intern program.
  • Participation in an industry or energy company university research project.
  • Previous intern experience as a Petroleum Engineer Intern at Chevron.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical skills in production and reservoir engineering assignments.
  • Contribute value to Chevron through assigned projects.
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams which can include petroleum engineers, geologists, geophysicists, facility engineers, drilling and completion engineers, data scientists, and/or software developers.
